Boating at Pineview Reservoir

Boating-1

Friday morning we were at Pineview Reservoir by 8:30am and staring into the beautiful clear water.  It’s been years since we’ve been boating.  We certainly didn’t do anything like this in Europe.  Cathedrals?  Climbing castle towers?  Sure… but no boating.  It feels good to be doing a different kind of vacationing.   Chris helped John get the boat in the water and then we staked out a nice piece of sand for the day.    We took turns riding in the boat, wake boarding and wake surfing and sitting on the shore… eating, building sand castles, and playing in the water.  We are loving spending so much time with the Moons, Chuggs and Grahams.   Thanks for letting us hang out on your boat, John!

Mike caught a fish… with his bare hands.

Kayla, Haylee and Luke loved the tube.

So did Matthew, Derek and Bridgette.  In fact, Bridgette did NOT want to come off.  She just politely stated that she wouldn’t be getting off… every time.  It was so cute.

I didn’t catch any of the wake boarding but Ryan, Katie, Emily and Megan tried it.  I was on the shore.  But later I got on for the wakesurfing.  It was fun… of course I never got in position to throw the rope in… and my thighs were burning… but it was fun.  John, Kyle, Rob, Chris and Mike sure made it look easy!

We called it a day when we could see the dark clouds starting to roll in.  We timed it perfectly, getting the boat out before the rush and packing all of our stuff into the vans right as the storm started.  We got pelted with sand as the winds got going but were so grateful we weren’t in the line of boats waiting to get out.  We headed straight to COSTCO and ran in to grab the stuff we needed for the baptism luncheon the next day AND grab some pizza for a late dinner.  After showers at home Chris, Mike, Ryan, Del, Shelley and I headed off to STAR TREK 2.  Living the vacation lifestyle is so fun!
