This is the Place Heritage Park–Salt Lake City
After our Park City week was over we checked out of the Cabin, dropped off the Ryan and Katie at BYU Provo for EFY and moved in with Scott and Elisha. On Tuesday we headed up to Heritage Park with Grandma and Grandpa Walton and Elisha and kids. Such a fun place!
The kids absolutely loved this little town and ran through each of the houses and picking which one was theirs. A great place to play with their cousins.
The kids were excited to ride the horses as well…
We toured a lot of the buildings and authentically dressed pioneers showed us around and explained what they used each building for. Here we are watching the blacksmiths at work.
The Andrus Halfway House was ‘halfway between Traveler’s Rest near 6400 South in Salt Lake City and Porter Rockwell’s rest stop about twelve miles south. Likely we had ancestors stay here.
We ate a picnic lunch and then headed to take the train to another stop.
Love this one with Grandpa and the grandkids…
We took the train up to Main Street and Grandpa got us ice cream cones at the Huntsman Hotel.
Then a mini train ride, panning for gold and playing on the big ship ended our day.
