SIX MONTHS OF Weekends

First Weekend in January: Hosting in St. George

  • HOSTING: Katie and Taylor, Emily, Megan and the boys home for the New Year’s Weekend! Chris taught Gospel Doctrine.

Second Weekend in January: Tulsa, Oklahoma

  • Travel: Chris and I in Tulsa, Oklahoma with Ryan and Cassie and meeting baby Graham as he comes home from the hospital. So fun to be there with them for over a week! Katie and Taylor stayed to hang out with the boys and (we would find out later) took a pregnancy test this weekend to confirm pregnancy.

Third Weekend in January: Hosting in St George

  • HOSTING: Megan and her mission friend, Rory came on Friday and then Katie and Taylor arrived on Saturday. On Monday Katie’s HXP team showed up for their overnighter team retreat. So fun to meet them all, be there for their morning devotional (catch me crying in the butler’s pantry) and spending some time with them as they enjoyed the pool and hot tub, responded to emails and delivered treats to local HXP builders.

Fourth Weekend in January: North and St. George

  • Travel: Chris and I took off for an overnighter to Farmington for an eye appointment/weekend getaway/shopping trip. Fun to be just the two of us after a busy couple weeks. We took Megan out for dinner an then on Friday stopped by Katie and Taylor’s Salt Lake Office to check out their work space and enjoy lunch together.

  • Back in St. George Chris and Luke went skiing while Matt headed to Preference with Lily. Sunday night Chris headed back to WY.

Last weekend in January: Hosting in St. George

  • HOSTING: Megan brought home a crew from BYU and beyond. Three different groups of boys and two close girlfriends from the Palmyra Sites mission. 6 guys and just 3 girls. They enjoyed the great St. George weather, swam in the pool and hot tub, watched movies in the theater room, hiked the Crack at Pioneer Park, came to church with us, enjoyed Tuna Crunch and then reluctantly headed back to Provo.


First Weekend in February: St. George

  • Neither hosting or traveling!! Dad flew home Friday night. We watched Matt at his bouldering competition and Chris and I enjoyed our first e-bike ride. I conducted RS for the first time and then we hosted 30 people for our Superbowl Party which was so much fun!

Second Weekend in February: Tulsa, OK

  • Travel: Such a great weekend. Chris, Luke, Matt and I flew from St. George to Denver to Chicago — picked up Emily and finally flew to Tulsa - getting in on Friday afternoon. Grandma Walton, Granny J and Megan flew in Friday night. Katie and Taylor flew in on Saturday night. We had a great couple days hanging out at Ryan and Cassie’s home. It was a special week for us: 1. Luke had recently opened his mission call. 2. Luke found out he got accepted into BYU while we were there!! 3. Katie and Taylor announced their pregnancy to the family and grandma’s! 4. Baby Graham was blessed. So fun to be together for all the moments.

Third Weekend in February: Hosting in St. George

  • HOSTING: Katie and Taylor came down for the weekend and we enjoyed a full day of PARADE of HOMES. We ran into Liz and Chip and ended up inviting them over for a house tour and to watch the BYU Basketball game together. Treats on the Street at the Woodards home.

Fourth Weekend in February: Hosting in St. George

  • HOSTING: Dan, Sarah, James and Kate flew in on Thursday night and stayed until Sunday night. Megan, Malia, Annie and Rory and Leah and three friends drove down from Provo to enjoy the weekend as well. We played lots of pickleball, ate Viva Chicken, enjoyed the pool, played Azul, watched movies, went shopping to Ace Hardware, Dutchmans and Cozy, ate at Bowl Superfoods, went to Bohme in the mall and picked up Indian Food, hiked Red Reef Trail and Owen’s Loop, celebrated Leah’s 19th birthday and talked a lot. It was SUCH a great weekend.


First Weekend in March: Hosting in St. George

  • HOSTING: We should’ve been in Puerta Vallarta but decided against it with the political/cartel situation going on. We lost some money on our Mexican apartment but will have to go back another time. Instead we opted for a St. George/Midway Spring Break. Katie, Taylor, Emily and Megan drove down early Saturday morning and we enjoyed the warm weather, pool, pickleball and loved the movie HAMNET together in the theater room. Emily and Megan headed back up to Provo on Sunday night and Katie and Taylor stayed with us for Monday and Tuesday. Chris and the boys skied on Monday and then Chris and Taylor golfed. Katie and I enjoyed a Fika Massage.

Second Weekend in March: Midway, Utah

  • Travel: Tuesday night we headed up to the Lodge. Emily and the kids were SO excited to be there! Wednesday: Midway Bakery for cinnamon rolls, grocery shopping, games, episodes of The Count of Monte Cristo, and gourmet hamburgers by Taylor for dinner and then Chris and I went and watched Megan’s intramural soccer game Thursday: Chili and sourdough bread, neighborhood walks, Project L, episodes of the Count of Monte Cristo. Friday: Day trip to BYU for the boys to do a campus tour, eat at the new BYU Creamery and then go Missionary Shopping for Luke. Megan unfortunately was sick so she spent the weekend throwing up, shivering and then recovering. Saturday: Out to the Midway Bakery, a walk by the river, games with Katie and Taylor’s friend, Bryan. Then Taylor’s family and Granny J came up for dinner and games. Sunday: We packed up, cleaned the Lodge, headed to church at Katie and Taylor’s ward and then went to Scott and Elisha’s house for Walton dinner. Then back to St. George!

Third Weekend in March: Hosting in St. George

  • HOSTING: The Heidelberg Girls Reunion Trip - Megan, Melissa, Heidi, Emma, Brittany and I - So fun!! I picked up Emma from the airport at 10:00am. Heidi and Brittany and Megan arrived later in the day and Melissa came the next day after signing on her new home. We spend Wednesday and Thursday hanging out by the pool and talking non stop. It’s been 6 years since we’ve all been together and we had lots to catch up on. Friday the girls LOVED Ace Hardware, Dutchmans, the Fika Reflexology Bar and then our lunch at Cliffside. It was the best time. Friday evening after Emma and Megan headed home we went to see PROJECT HAIL MARY with Melissa, Heidi, Brittany, Dave, Chris and the boys. We loved it. One more pool day and then the remaining girls headed home. We’re excited for another Heidelberg reunion trip next year!

Fourth Weekend in March: Hosting in St. George

  • HOSTING: Katie and Taylor came down with THREE other couples - some of their NEWLYWED friends in their Orem Ward. It was so fun to have them here — easy to talk to and such great people. They enjoyed the warm weather, pool, basketball court and lawn games while Chris and I headed on an e-Bike ride — Hell Hole Trail — which we loved. Meanwhile, Megan and 10 of the Restoration Site sisters came down for one of their friend’s weddings and stayed at Grandma Johnson’s house. It was fun to see her and Malia several times throughout the weekend and the whole group of them for hot tubbing one night. Sunday after church we celebrated PALM SUNDAY with a big Jerusalem feast with Katie and Taylor and friends, and Megan and Malia. Such a great weekend.


First Weekend in April: Hosting in St. George

  • HOSTING: Megan and Rune home for General Conference, Easter and her birthday! Conference was so good. We watched each session down in the living room… each with a different meal… french toast and fruit, Texas Pile Up, Sticky buns and then homemade pizzas on Sunday evening. The kids looked for easter baskets on Sunday morning and then searched for plastic eggs filled with candy. Megan was excited to have Rune here for all of it! Megan’s birthday started with massages at Fika, then Rune, Chris and Matt met up with us for shopping at Ace and then late breakfast at First Watch. Then eye glass shopping, temple dress shopping and home to work on her finances and pack up. Fun to have them have both here for the weekend.

Second Weekend in April: Hosting in St. George and Dominican Republic

  • HOSTING: Scott and Elisha and boys came down for Thursday, Friday and Saturday of their Spring Break and we had a blast! We played tons of pickleball (Chris and I against Scott and Elisha), played in the pool, soaked in the hot tub, made homemade pizzas, watched movies, went to the river to skim board, took a bike ride to Cotton valley trail (Elisha and I), went golfing (Chris, Matt, Scott and Foster), went to the climbing gym (Luke, Matt, Foster and Nate), played hours of playmobil (Owen and Ben), ate Viva Chicken and did lots of talking. So much fun!

  • Travel: Chris and I headed to the Dominican Republic for a week long trip with our travel friends.

Third Weekend in April: Dominican Republic

  • Travel: Chris and I coming back from our week in the Dominican Republic. Fun to connect and talk about life and all our kids. The resort was beautiful, the weather was humid and lovely, and the food was good. We got home late Saturday night. The boys drove up to Provo on Friday night and spend the weekend with Katie enjoying the HXP 5K in the morning and then the trampoline park at night. They booked it home after church to be home in time for Bishop’s Happy Hour, which they love.

Fourth Weekend in April: St. George

  • Neither traveling or hosting (THE SECOND WEEKEND OF 2026) (But we did host Mike, Carly and the girls overnight on Tuesday and were lucky enough to celebrate Becca’s 5th birthday. She kept telling everyone that it was her birthday but she wasn’t five yet. When we asked why she wasn’t five yet she responded with, ‘because my family hasn’t sung happy birthday to me yet.’ It was adorable!)

  • So excited to have the weekend just with the boys so we can mission prep, watch ANDOR and get all kinds of things ready for our crazy May!


First Weekend in May: Hosting in St. George

  • HOSTING: THE WALTON WOMEN St. George Girls Trip! Sarah and Elisha ended up not being able to come, but Amy, Carly, Mom and I had the best time hiking, ebiking, enjoying massages at Fika, eating at Cliffside, shopping, and hanging out by the pool and talking. Love my people!

Second Weekend in May: Midway

  • Travel: First ever Johnson/Christofferson Reunion at the Lodge! We had a blast. We stopped at a good friend’s wedding from Colorado and saw all our Colorado friends… then picked up Ryan, Cassie and baby Graham from the airport and headed to the Lodge. So fun to have everyone there except for Emily in Chicago and Logan doing summer sales. Katie and Taylor came late because of Trip Leader Training. Saturday was filled with fun conversations, cinnamon rolls at the Midway Bakery, a Dairy Farm tour, lunch at Lola’s, games at the Lodge, walks to the park (where we saw the Theurers too) and then pizza, and shakes while watching the movie Rental Family. Mother’s Day brunch was made by Adam and Chris… then church and sandwiches and games and a big conversation of what Johnson/Christofferson family trip we were going to do next year. I loved the energy and enthusasim of everyone sharing ideas and working out times of what would work. Fiji it is then. Haha

Third Weekend in May: Hosting in St. George

  • HOSTING: Johnson Family Staycation - Chris, Lisa, Ryan, Cassie, baby Graham, Katie, Taylor, Emily, Megan, Luke and Matt! Highlights include: Fika massages and lunch at cliffside for the girls, golf for Chris, Taylor, Matt and Luke, pool time, a fun side by side tour, wingspan tournament games, pickleball, manicures, movies in the theater, Taylor’s home-cooked meals, movies outside by the pool, and Les Mis at the Tuachan.

Fourth Weekend in May: Hosting in St. George

  • HOSTING: Johnson Family Staycation PLUS Extended Johnson Family in town for TRADITIONAL MEMORIAL DAY FUN + Grandma Walton and Brian for Luke’s FAREWELL + Romney and Rune! Hightlights include: Luke’s Graduation from Dixie High School, Luke going through the Red Cliffs Temple, Family dinner at Red Fort, Romney and Rune visiting, family pictures, Luke’s farewell talk in Sacrament meeting, a special family testimony meeting, Johnson family over for big taco dinner, and Luke’s open house. The best weekend!

Last Weekend in May: Croatia

  • Travel: Chris, Lisa, Luke and Matt with a blitz tour through Croatia, Bosnia and Slovenia - Dubrovnik, Mostar, Split, Rovinj and Motovun. SO FUN!


First Weekend in June: Slovenia

  • Travel: Chris, Lisa, Luke and Matt with a blitz through Croatia, Bosnia and Slovenia - Bovec, Lake Bled, and Ljubl AMAZING!

Second Weekend in June: St. George - Home MTC

  • Neither Hosting or Traveling: Luke is a MISSIONARY doing home MTC from Tuesday night to Monday. Such a great weekend! Matt received his Patriarchal Blessing and it was nice to have Luke there as well. Luke and I dropped off Chris at the St. George and Luke said goodbye to Chris for TWO YEARS. On Monday, Luke, Matt and I drove down to Provo and stayed with my mom overnight. She hosted all the Waltons for dinner to enjoy the evening and say goodbye to Luke. At the end of the evening Luke asked Taylor to give him a blessing and it was so neat. Tuesday after lunch at a Riverwoods Pizza place we all hopped into my car and drove Luke to the MTC and said goodbye! He hugged us all and just walked away - ready to go! Love that kid.

Third Weekend in June: Hosting in St. George

  • HOSTING: Lisa, Marilee, Caroline, Katie, Annie, Abbey and baby Rockwell ST. GEORGE GIRLS TRIP! Immediately after dropping off Luke at the MTC, Katie, Matt and I picked up SWIG and then headed home to St. George for the next party to start! Marilee, Annie, Caroline and Abbey came on down and we enjoyed a couple days filled with talking, shopping at ACE hardware, FIKA massages, good food, a podcast listen and discussion, late night talks outside, hanging out by the pool, journal questions and more talking! It was such a great couple days!!

Fourth Weekend in June: Midway

  • Travel: Hanging out at the Lodge in Midway for a week! What a great way to end our busy six months. We love Midway, especially when it’s all decked out with Fourth of July colors and flags. We invited the Johnsons up for dinner, the Waltons up for dinner, loved being at Tyler’s wedding and enjoying Main Street Midway every day!
