Dominican Republic
Sanctuary Cap Cana
We opted for a resort trip this time ... Sanctuary Cap Cana - a beautiful All-inclusive in the Dominican Republic. The resort was meticulously cared for with interesting architecture, colorful builds and beautifully decorated open spaces.
We waited in the blue living room as they checked us in and give us our first welcome drink - a coconut lemonade - that eneded up being a staple through the trip.
Miami Vices and chocolate eclair appetizers while we waited for our table at the Steakhouse.
Our room was in the blue building on the very right. Such a good location and so close to the pools and beach.
We loved our yoga and stretching classes on the blue shuttered open room over the ocean. I started each morning with a class with the girls or a solo beach/resort walk. I just love getting up early some days and sleeping in on others.
Chris and I enjoyed the little woven egg beds, pool side. A little more private and shady. Virgin Miami Vice drinks please.
While the boys golfed, we enjoyed the hydro area at the spa. Steam rooms, cold plunges, hot tubs, dynamic pools with water beds, heated loungers and a rock foot path. We enjoyed all of it waiting for our 80 minute massage, which was dreamy. After my massage, they had a Miami Vice waiting for me!
The resort had the coolest arches, stone walls, cobbled walkways and terraces. Fun to take pictures before our dinner at the Italian Restaurant. Loved my pink sauce pasta with shrimp and warm focaccia bread.
Before dinner the guys grabbed coconut lemonade for all of us. This trip was definitely a business trip. During the second half of dinner, the guys listened in on a hospital board meeting and then discussed it over gelato.
Lots of great conversations with the girls while the guys continued their business talks in the pool.
A few pictures before dinner at the Seafood Restaurant. Salad and then Surf and turf (steak and shrimp) for Chris and I and it was great. The restaurant was ocean side and such a fun place to enjoy and take pictures.
An early morning walk on the beach with Chris before settling into our spot at the pool.
One last Miami Vice before leaving the resort. Such a good trip.
