Bora Bora - Day Three
From our bedroom window and deck we could see the sun as it rose above the horizon. It was warm enough first thing in the morning to sit out on the deck and enjoy the sky lighting up. I was up early anyway and loved being outside. Temperature highs for the week were 81 degrees and lows for the week were 79 degrees — so it was pretty perfect. On top of that the water temperature was ‘perfectly warm’ degrees and you could just slip into the water without any discomfort at all. What a heavenly place.
Outing to the main island of Bora Bora
Scooters and Backpacks
We rented two scooters and one pink jeep to get us around the island. Chris and I jumped on the scooter first and loved it.
Mainland Bora Bora looks alot different than our perfectly manicured resort. Everywhere we travel it’s fun to get into the different areas to see what real life looks like for the locals.
We rode the main street for 20 minutes into town and wandered the streets looking in shops as we made our over the entrance to the hike.
We thought we were going to hike with them for a ways but didn’t make it far. It was SO humid! Back to the grocery store and more island exploring.
The boys couldn’t get up to the peak before the ferry had to take us back but they tried hard. Hot and humid jungle!
We loved our mini pink jeep! We found one of the Bora Bora church buildings and talked to a few local members who happened to be there.
Adult Swimming Pool
Back to this beautiful swimming pool nearer to our bungalows. We got in and talked for an hour before heading to dinner.
Ready for Dinner
Dinner was at the Italian Restaurant tonight and then we played a card game called ‘fruit salad’ at Dave and Kristi’s house. Chris and I lost but it was pretty fun and we laughed a lot.
Thought it might be fun to pull out the one piece jumper that I wore to my bridal shower - yep, 30 years ago!
