Easter
“Jesus Christ lives! As our resurrected and atoning Savior, He stands ready to help us grow from the dramatic, unexpected events in our lives. At this Easter season, let us worship and praise Him for the peace, hope, light, and truth He brings to us.”
Our Easter shelves were decorated early March and I loved having a constant reminder that Easter was coming.
I love Amy’s beautiful Etsy printables with scriptures and quotes about the importance of our Savior and gifted ‘the Week of Easter’ and a few of the ‘EASTER in the Book of Mormon’ packets to my ministering sisters with fabric carrots filled with chocolates.
This year was our second year doing a Palm Sunday feast but this year it was just Chris and I and the boys. I whipped it together with things I had on hand that might work, grabbed the palm fronds I picked up last year and but it together on the island. The boys loved it because… meatballs.
Chris led the discussion in Gospel Doctrine on Palm Sunday about the Savior and this Easter Season and did such a great job. Always grateful to focus on the Savior.
On Easter Sunday I hid baskets and eggs in the backyard. The boys were disappointed that I didn’t use a brand new house full of hiding spots for the baskets filled with candy — apparently they still like the hiding. The eggs either had nothing in them or a piece of paper with a letter on it. They soon figured out they had to spell a word and after arranging them in a line for 5 seconds Matt called out C O L D P L A Y. A fun way to announce that we had tickets for the upcoming concert in Vegas - just the four of us. : )
