Vision Boards
Our family New Year’s Eve activity was to make vision boards. I worked on it a bit, but sometimes find it hard to really get into a project like that in the group setting, so I took the next couple of days to finish mine up and added it right to the bulletin board that sits beside my desk. It’s going to be a good year!

LIGHT

Hiking Elephant Arch
We had Megan and Rory here for the weekend and since Rory was eager to hike we found one that we hadn’t done before and had a blast doing it. The first while is hiking in sand, but after that the red rocks are so fun. The kids found some caves, holes and arches that were just too fun to resist.
A beautiful red rock landscape and the perfect weather to enjoy it. Of course the hike is called Elephant Arch but we were shocked at how much it really did look like an elephant with an eye and trunk. It was a fun destination.
HXP Overnight Retreat
Katie invited her work team down for a little overnight work retreat and it was so fun to meet everyone and see them in action. I got to peek in as they were having their big zoom call devotional and was emotional in the pantry hearing them talk about their experiences being on a trip and the miracles they saw. What a great company, good people and such a fun work environment.
All of Megan’s Friends
It was such a fun weekend to have this crew in town. Megan just kept inviting more and more people and ended up with Site sister friends, NYC mission friends, long time Colorado guy friends and a new guy she’s been hanging out with a ton. They hung out at the pool, played Spikeball and basketball, watched shows and had a blast together. So fun to have Megan’s people here for the weekend!
Rock Climbing Club
Matt is loving being involved in the rock climbing club at Contact this last school year. He’s at the gym every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, has made some climbing friends, likes the coaches and has made some real improvement over the last several months. He loves the bouldering and prides himself on being one of the strongest guys there, while also trying to improve his finger strength and grip. Chris and I went and watched him during one of his weekend competitions and I’m really so impressed. Way to go Matt!
Luke is BYU BOUND!
So proud of Luke! He spent hours and hours working on his BYU application on top of getting really great grades all through high school and graduating with honors.
Still he was shocked opening up the letter that congratulated him on his acceptance to Brigham Young University. He opened it and announced it to the family when we were in Tulsa for Graham’s baby blessing. It was SO fun to be all together to celebrate him. And since he just opened his mission call earlier this week - it’s crazy to think that he now knows where he’s going to be for the next six years.
Joella from the ward brought over this Congrats basket with BYU socks and all kinds of blue treats. So nice of her!
Waltons for the Weekend
It was so fun to have Dan and Sarah and family here in St. George for the weekend. I’ve been dreaming of this weekend for a long time and knew that when Annie and Megan got home from their missions and Leah was at BYU that we’d make it happen. I told the girls that they could bring girlfriends down and then Dan and Sarah, James and Kate flew in to Las Vegas, rented a car and drove up. We ate great food - Viva Chicken, and Red Fort Indian, played lots of pickleball each morning, hiked Jenny’s Canyon, watched movies in the theater room, played games and had lots of time to talk. I took the girls to Ace Hardware - which they thought was so fun!
